North Korean hackers declared that they have stolen crypto assets via Telegram.
The fact is that Lazarus, one of the most representative hacker groups in North Korea declared to have stolen digital currencies via the free instant messaging service Telegram, which is available on mobile and computer.
Information relayed on January 10th by Radio Free Asia (RFA), which refers to a report released this morning (9th of January). Lazarus created accounts on fake cryptocurrency exchange platforms on Telegram, and after having attracted customers, they implanted malwares into their devices to hijack their digital currencies.
According to the document published, the victims are in the United Kingdom, Poland, Russia and China in particular. No information has been release regarding the amount stolen. In this context, we can understand that the US Treasury Department decided, in September 2019, to put in place sanctions against this group
